Dancing Bears

Congratulations to the Morgan State University men's basketball team, which yesterday received its first-ever invitation to the NCAA Tournament, aka The Big Dance.

The Bears earned an automatic berth into the field of 65 by winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament championship. The 15th-seeded Bears will take on mighty Oklahoma Friday at 9:40 p.m. in Kansas City.

Coach Todd Bozeman will be a big story during the first week of this year's tournament. He once led the storied Cal program before NCAA violations and personal problems derailed his career. He wound up at much smaller Morgan State, but this year his Bears are carrying the mantle for Baltimore college basketball.
