Dessert on the House

A new soul food restaurant opens downtown today, and it wants its debut to be a sweet experience for its customers.

Red Springs Cafe is now serving food at 353 N. Calvert St. In celebration of its opening, it is offering free dessert with the purchase of a hot entree and 20-ounce drink. The deal runs from today through Friday.

Obviously, I haven't eaten there yet, but I'd love to hear from anyone who does this week. Good soul food always hits the spot.
