Baltimore's Homeless Problem

Monday June 22, 2009

A new survey places the number of homeless people in Baltimore at 3,419.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development conducted the biannual survey, which also found that more than 1,000 of those homeless live on the streets, as opposed to sleeping in shelters.

Baltimore's homeless population is about the same as Philadelphia's, but smaller than that of the one in Washington, D.C. I sometimes feel that homelessness is an overlooked problem in Baltimore, so I'm wondering: How - if at all - does this survey change your thinking on the issue?
