Not Too Late For a Summer Cruise

From Mike Unger, About.com GuideJuly 14, 2009

Follow me on:

Need a vacation (who doesn't?), but don't want to deal with the aggravation of driving or flying somewhere? (who does?)

A cruise to the Bahamas, Florida, or the Caribbean might be the answer. Carnival Cruises' Carnival Pride sails year-round from the Port of Baltimore. The cruise line offers six-, seven- and eight-day cruises through Sept. 6, 2009. After that the ship begins year-round seven-day cruises departing every Sunday, alternating between an Exotic Eastern Caribbean itinerary and a Bahamas/Florida route. Carnival Pride will operate 50 sailings a year from Baltimore, carrying an estimated 115,000 passengers annually.

Cruising isn't for everyone. I've only been on one myself, and while I enjoyed it immensely, I was only aboard for four days/nights. Any longer than that may have been a little too long for me. But I had to fly to Tampa to catch my boat. The idea of hopping on the ship right here in Baltimore definitely is appealing.
