Baltimore's Middle in the Middle

From Mike Unger, About.com GuideJune 9, 2010

Follow me on:

A new study by the American College of Sports Medicine has Baltimore ranked the 20th-fittest among the nation's 50-largest (literally) cities.

The report ranks America's 50 largest metro areas on preventive health behaviors, levels of chronic disease conditions, health care access, and community resources and policies that support physical activity.

Brace yourself for this: Washington, D.C., remained on top of the list for the second year in a row. Boston was second followed by Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle and Portland, Ore.

Dead last? That would be Oklahoma City. I've never been there, but I imagine the beef and barbecue are pretty hard to resist.

What do you think, is Baltimore a fit city?
