Baltimore magazine's "Best of Baltimore" party is this Thursday. If you've never gone, I can tell you from personal experience, it's one hell of a great time.
The doors to the Hippodrome open at 6 p.m., and for the next five hours, prepare to eat and drink basically non-stop. There are several open bars, and 50 of the city's top restaurants will be passing out samples of their cuisine.
Tickets are steep: $75 in advance online, $90 at the door. That includes all that food, booze, and a souvenir glass. But at least some of the proceeds go to a worthy cause: Baltimore magazine's party benefits The Family Tree, a non-profit dedicated to improving the community by providing families with proven solutions to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Live music, dancing, and plenty of mingling round out the evening. If you're going to go, dress to impress - everyone (especially the ladies) will be looking their best. After all, it's the "Best of Baltimore."
