The Jewish Museum of Maryland encompasses two historic synagogues. One, B'nai Israel Synagogue, built in 1876, is still an active congregation. The other, Lloyd Street Synagogue (1845), has neoclassical architecture.
The museum's programs and exhibits teach about regional Jewish history, culture and community, concentrating on the Jewish experience in America.
Admission: Adults $8, students $4, under 12 $3.
Hours: Sun., Tue. Thurs. noon to 4 p.m. Guided tours of Lloyd Street and B'nai Israel Synagogues at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The museum is closed for many Jewish festivals and holy days.
