Maps: Finding Our Place in the World
Walters Art Museum
Major map exhibit at the Walters explores maps as an art form, a science and a part of everyday life. The exhibition includes everything from works by Leonardo da Vinci to the first map of the United States as annotated for the Treaty of Paris. But it also expands the definition of a map to include African scuptures and images from Hubble Telecope.

The classic storybook engine Thomas the Tank Engine rolls into Baltimore for the Day Out With Thomas 2008: The Great Discovery Tour. Preschoolers and their families can tak a ride with a 15-ton replica of the star of the popular Thomas & Friends series. Tickets include:
- A 25-minute (approximate) ride with Thomas the Tank Engine
- An opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of The Railway

Every year the Women’s Committee of the Walters Art Museum puts on a celebration of spring with its annual Art Blooms extravaganza. This year the theme, Art Blooms: All Mapped Out With Flowers connects with the Walters major exhibit Maps: Finding Our Place in the World.
