Info: Eat, drink and be merry in this re-creation of a 16th-century English village on 125 wooded acres. The site includes a jousting arena, 8 large stages, five pubs and lots of games, food and craft booths. Costume rental available.

What: Fort McHenry Guard - Defenders Return to the Fort
Where: Fort McHenry National Shrine

Info: History re-enactors portray the daily life of the War of 1812 soldier, sailor and citizen. Dressed in replica 19th-century clothing, the Fort McHenry Guard conducts drills, barracks activities, artillery and musket firing demonstrations, civilian activities and childrens programs.

What: Baltimore Blues Society Labor Day Picnic
Where: Rosedale American Legion Hall

Info: This laid-back little blues festival, which hosts Sean Costello, The Buicks

What: Ravens Team Store Opening
Where: Sports Legends at Camden Yards

Info: To celebrate the opening of the store, this event feature appearances by Baltimore Ravens players, including Matt Stover and Bart Scott, plus entertainment by the Marching Ravens Pep Band, cheerleaders and mascot. As part of the event, an autograph signing with the players will take place inside Sports Legends
Museum from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., but is limited to 200 visitors with special tickets for the autograph. Ticket for the autograph signing will be distributed to the first 200 customers who purchase Ravens
merchandise on Sept. 4 at the Sports Legends Museum Store, which opens at 10 a.m.

Info: Every Friday the Walters offers evening hours until 8 p.m. Special tours, which begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Visitor Service Desk, and musical guests are featured most weeks.
Tour: How to Paint a Myth: Visual Storytelling in Ancient Greek and Roman Art by Sabine Albersmeier, Assistant Curator of Ancient Art Special guests:This week, instead of a musical guest, the museum features "Spoken Masterpieces," some of Baltimore's best spoken word artists. Info: Crab soup, crabcakes, crab fluff. You name the crab dish, and it's here at this festival, a 40-year tradition. But there's more to do than just eat. Shop for arts and crafts or enjoy the volleyball tournament, games for children, magicians, jugglers, performance artists, bocci and even a clamshell-tossing contests.

What: Defenders Day Weekend and Fireworks

Info: On Friday evening, the Fort McHenry Guard sails from the fort to the Inner Harbor, where they parade through the streets en route to the Star-Spangled Banner House, where they retrieve a 30x42 replica of the flag that inspired the "Star-Spangled Banner." Then the band of historical re-enactors sails back to the Fort. Saturday and Sunday various programs go on at the fort throughout the day. Saturday evening there's a concert and fireworks.

Info: Part of the city's "Festival of Nations" program, which supports various ethnic festivals, this event features a pierogi-eating contest, music, dancing, vendors, oyster bar and beer garden.

What: Make a Shofar and More
Where: Weinberg Park Heights Jewish Community Center, 5700 Park Heights Ave.
When: Sept. 9, 1:30-2:30 p.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Cost: $5 per child, $20 a family
Info: Children ages 6 and up can fashion a shofar from a raw ram's horn for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Other holiday art projects also available. Call 410-542-4900 for more information.
