Info: The program will begin with a wreath-laying inside fort. During the afternoon living history volunteers dressed as soldiers from the War of 1812 through World War II will be on hand to talk to visitors about the history of the fort and its changing role through time. Visitors will see War of 1812 soldiers demonstrate battle tactics, a Civil War prison, explore the forts use as a World War I hospital and learn to identify enemy aircraft from World War II. Rare artifacts such as a WWI gas mask, wind up Victrola and photographs from the Second World War will be on display.

Where: The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

Cost: $25-$30 5-mile race, $10 family run
Info: Five-mile race takes runners through the zoo and surrounding Druid Hill Park. Theres also a one-mile family fun run. Event includes free food and refreshments, prize drawings, T shirts and free zoo admission passes for the runners plus special appearances by some of the Zoos animal ambassadors at a post-race party.
