What
The musical acts on two stages and in a dance tent are the main draw, obviously. But there's plenty else to do and see (not to mention eat and drink), though details for 2008 have not been released. Last year art installations that include fire sculptures and robots as well as roller derby queens and roaming still walkers wouldn't let you forget this is Baltimore, hon. Non-profits ranging from Living Classrooms Foundation to Youth Noise had booths. And Pimlico's betting windows were open, and races were simulcast from across the country.Last year's menu featured the bounty of the Chesapeake on the menu: crabcakes, steamed crabs, crab melts and oysters on the half shell. But if you're not into Baltimore-style cuisine, there's still plenty of good old festival fare like pizza veggie wraps, falafel, BBQ, Boardwalk fries and more.
Drinks were meant to be mobile here. There were no beer garden because as Virgin Festival officials stated "our idea of a good time does not include sitting in a cage while drinking a cocktail." More than a half dozen beers, wines and cocktails made with top-shelf liquor are available.
