Baltimore's Greek-American community marks Greek Independence Day with a parade in through Greektown. The parade includes dance groups in ethnic costumes, children groups, the U.S. Naval Academy's unit of Greek Philhellene Midshipmen, Color Guard, and Navy Drum and Bugle Corps. as well ad the Orthodox clergy from across the Baltimore area. Parade route begins at Haven Street, up Eastern Avenue and turns right onto Ponca Street and ends two blocks past the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at Fait Avenue.
While Easter is a joyful Christian ritual, it has become a fun celebration of spring for many Americans.
