With each passing year, the Maryland Film Festival in Baltimore gets bigger and bigger. National filmmakers with Baltimore roots, like Barry Levinson and John Waters, usually take part, and the festival offers an eclectic mix of big-budget, high-profile films and smaller, independent projects. The 2009 Maryland Film Festival promises to be one of the most intriguing yet.
The majority of films are presented by their directors, although some are presented by guests, to whom the film has special meaning.
Lights, camera, action!
