Bzzzzzzz. Hear that? It's the sound of Baltimore's best beehive hairdos emerging from their hives for Honfest 2009 in Baltimore. Since 1994 this festival has delighted locals and the increasing number of Honfest pilgrims. Held on 36th St. in the Hampden neighborhood, Honfest celebrates the historic working women of Baltimore in pure Baltimore style.
Hon is a Baltimore term of endearment, and nothing in Charm City is more endearing than Honfest.
Don't forget about HampdenFest, Hampden's other great annual festival.

Miss Hon 2009
It's a crown that makes Miss America look, well, downright unimportant. Each year Baltimore's women vie for the prestigious title of Miss Hon. Here are the official rules for this year's contest:
- You fill out the application the day of Honfest next to the Main Stage beginning at 10 a.m.
- If you become one of the top ten finalists you will need to return on Sunday to finish the competition.
- Our Motto: "The higher the hair the closer to God!"
- Our mission: "Honor the Working Women of America". We honor WOMEN.
- Our goal: Honfest gives you permission to have fun, HON!
- No cigarettes, no booze, no foul language, no exceptions.
- Must have a unique HON style, command of our beloved language "Bawlmerese" and a great personality.
- Must be available three or four times a year to dress up and must ride in the Mayor's Christmas Parade on December 7th.
- Talent is not a requirement.
