The Pigtown Festival in Baltimore is the city's only community festival that features the a parade of pigs. Complete with your standard street fair attractions - music, food, and drink - it is the pig parade that sets the Pigtown Festival apart.
Also known as Washington Village, Pigtown is located in downtown Baltimore near the stadiums. It is rumored to have gotten its oinkish moniker from the scores of pigs that would be dragged through its narrow streets every day on their way to be slaughtered in meat-packing plants
