There's Christmas decorations, and then there's the Christmas lights on 34th Street in Hampden. Neighbors on this block of rowhouses string Christmas lights from one end of 34th Street to the other. Inflatable snowglobes, musical trains and blinking angels adorn homes. A few even allow visitors to peek inside.

The lights stay up until New Year's Eve, and most nights they are lit from dusk to 11 p.m. But they shine all night Christmas Eve. People come from near and far to see the display, creating an almost carnival-like atmosphere. It's a uniquely Baltimore Christmas experience.
