How Flexcar Works
Potential users must first register with Flexcar and pay a one registration fee, which may be waived, and an annual membership fee. After 3 -6 business days, members receive a packet that includes a Flexcard key, member number and PIN. Once registered, members reserve a Flexcar vehicle online or by touchtone phone, then use their Flexcard to open the doors.
The fees, which vary depending on whether the member is affiliated with Hopkins or lives near the Homewood campus, range from $6-10 an hour and $60.00 per day. The rate includes gas, insurance, 150 free miles, maintenance, a reserved parking spot and 24-hour emergency service.
The cars are parked at several reserved parking spots around the Homewood campus, , including Wyman Park Drive Reserved Lot, Mattin Center/Power Plant, Tennis Courts Lot and Homewood Field Lot. Homewood Campus Map
