A Fan's Guide to Baltimore Ravens Football

By , About.com Guide

Baltimore Ravens football has been a Charm City tradition since the team came to town in 1996. Sundays in the fall fans paint the town purple as they cheer on one of the best teams in the NFL at M&T Bank Stadium.

Ravens Basics and History

The Baltimore Ravens moved to Charm City from Cleveland prior to the 1996 season. They replaced the beloved Colts, who bolted in the dead of night in the winter of 1984. Immediately, the city took to its new franchise, named the Ravens after the famous poem by one-time Baltimore resident Edgar Allan Poe.
