When Baltimore's Camden Yards opened in 1992, there was nothing else like it in Major League Baseball. The new stadium, designed for only baseball, captured and built upon the historic charm of its downtown location. And on top of that, it had a fan-friendly layout and good food.

Today it still retains its appeal, but it is no longer alone. Many cities, such as Cincinnati and Cleveland, have emulated Baltimore's Camden Yards by building downtown stadiums with striking designs.

Parking and Transportation
ParkingUnless you have a parking pass, don't count on onsite parking. But don't worry there are still plenty of parking spaces in the area. From the Orioles' website:
- "Don't expect that everyone can park right next to the ballpark. A short 10-15 minute walk will place you outside the most congested area, may cost less, and will allow you to get on the road before many who park next to the ballpark."

Tours
If you'd like to get a close up look at how the JumboTron works, or visit the dugout, sing up for a tour of the stadium. From March through November, tours are available. Call 410-547-6234 for public tour times or to schedule a private tour.Security Procedures
- Purses, diaper bags, backpacks and camera bags are permitted, but items must fit into a 16" x 16" x 8" box. All items allowed into the ballpark will be inspected.
- No hard-sided coolers, Thermos bottles, glass bottles or cans are permitted into the ballpark. They cannot be claim-checked at the entrance gates.
- No re-entry to the ballpark is permitted.
- Only vehicles dropping off or picking up disabled guests will be permitted to stop curbside at the ballpark.
