Baltimore is packed with great places to eat steamed crabs. Locals love to argue about which crab house features the best atmosphere, tastiest seasoning, fattest crabs and greatest overall value.
My personal favorites are Costas Inn and Jimmy Cantler's Riverside Inn. What are yours?

What is my favorite crab house?
- I was born and raised in the Washington DC area and I am 54 years of age. My grandparents and parents were raised in Southern, Maryland a little town called Bendict in Calvert Count on the Water. So I must say we know our CRABS. I just want to let you know I took the advise and went to Cantlers, Riverside Maryland (Annaoplis). One dozen large was $60.00 and extra-large $75.00. We got the large, they were poor in size, no taste, some of the crabs were watery inside. We also tried the fried calamri. NEVER AGAIN. I like B0 BROOKS, however the crabs are from Texas and Louisanna. The Quarterdeck in Roslyn, Virginia are FANTASTIC. I give Quaterdeck hands up.

Captain James Crab
- I was visiting Baltimore and decided to have Steamed Crab at Captain James. It was so deliceous and so fresh. I will always visit this place whenever I am in Baltimore.

Blakes Crabhouse
- Carry out crabs only, however these heavy monsters have the best prices in town. They have a special that you can get a half of a bushel of "pickins" crabs for $45. The thing is, that these pickins crabs have mostly large crabs in them. So its a great deal in Baltimore. They are off of 40 on Erdman Ave.

- This is a neighborhood place to get a brew on Harford Road that serves the biggest crab cake, all lump meat, hardly any filler. Best crab cake my husband's ever had! The ribs are mighty tasty, too.

Favorite Crab House
- Bill's Terrace Inn is one of my favorites in Baltimore. Annapolis has Cantlers or Mike's Crabhouse which both are on the water. If you want to venture to Grasonville, Harris Crab house is excellent and has a great view of the Chester River and Narrows.
